Types of Disease Marketplace Activity

This is a marketplace activity. Done properly this type of activity will leave the teacher almost redundant as you watch the kids walking around teaching themselves and each other about malaria, deficiency diseases, pathogens and body disorders. The powerpoint contains all the printable resources and full teacher instructions.


1Teachers Notes 1 What is a marketplace activity?A marketplace activity is one designed to make the teacher pretty much redundant. After launching the activity you should hopefully feel a bit of a spare part! You just need to facilitate the learning by introducing the idea then managing the timing of the elements within the lesson.
Pupils need to be split into 8 groups. There are four aspects they need to cover so each aspect will be covered by two groups. This increases competition when the marketplace is open for business. You may wish to decide on groups in advance of the lesson.
