Tudors
This dance consists of three parts and is based on what might have happened at a Tudor feast.
The first part is a pavane which is a slow processional dance with four beats to every bar. The courtiers enter the grand hall ready for a great feast.
The second part is a galliard. This is a dance with three beats in every bar. The courtiers are in groups of six and make up symmetrical dance steps.
The third part is the feast. The courtiers are entertained by the jesters whilst they are eating drinking and being merry.

During the Blitz
This dance is set in London at the beginning of the Second World War. It starts with the declaration of war against Germany and subsequently the first air raid siren is heard.
The very frightened people of London jump up grab gas masks and hurry through the dark to the nearest air raid shelters and settle down for the night.
At first they huddle together but then various activities start to take place for example sleeping eating playing cards having a sing song.
Many think about their loved ones fighting on the front line. They also consider how they can help the war effort for example hard labour in the munitions factories joining the land army digging for victory etc.
The dance finishes with the all-clear and the people of London slowly come out into the daylight and see the devastation caused by the Blitz.
