A new service from ZygoHubs allows you to set up a text messaging group and send it out to your whole class / team. You get a certain amount of free usage, and then you can buy bundles of credits (as with Teachable) which are cheaper than standard texts.

We can think of all kinds of uses for teachers, from a weekly reminder to hand in homework, through to texting pupils before a geography field trip to remind them what to bring.
