A powerpoint presentation (with sounds) that enable the children to follow the progress of the Black Death around Europe and to study the mode of transmission. Very easy to understand and clear images. Also included is a worksheet on animals used in the First World War.

Animals in World War 1
During the War animals were used a great deal to help the situation at the front. Many animals gave their lives to help the men fighting in the trenches.
It has taken till 2003 for the animals that worked so hard to be acknowledged. A memorial to these hardworking creatures is being created at the moment.
HORSES

Horses pulling gun carriages in 1919
Horses had always been used in the British cavalry. They had been really important in every war until the First World War. Almost million horses were killed during the fighting.
